Train with The Official Training Program of The San Francisco Marathon!We offer a 26-week program beginning on January 24th and an 18-week training program beginning on March 21st. Locations are offered in San Francisco and the East Bay, as well as a Virtual/Online option. Runners can earn free training by participating in the Train for Free Fundraising option. Return to top 26-week "Get Fit" Marathon and Half Marathon TrainingBeginning on January 24th, this program is designed for those novice runners that need to “Get-in-to-Running-Shape” before beginning their marathon or half marathon training. The first 8 weeks of this program will help you to get your running legs going and your miles up a bit so that you are ready to train for the 2009 San Francisco Marathon and Half Marathon events on July 26, 2009. You will increase your fitness level, build your endurance, improve your speed and gain the tools to eat properly, stay hydrated and avoid running injuries. We will culminate the first 8 weeks by running The Emerald Across the Bay 12k race. It will then be time to start marathon and half marathon training! Return to top 18-week Marathon and Half Marathon Training ProgramBeginning on March 21st we kick off our 18-week Marathon and Half Marathon Training Program for novice and experienced runners. You should already be running or walking regularly 2-3 times a week. This team will join up with our 26-week runners to train for The San Francisco Marathon or Half Marathon. Our comprehensive training program will build your running base, help you improve your endurance and fitness levels and give you tips, tools and encouragement to step up to the starting line and get to the finish line! Again, attend 3 weekly runs – a track session, one weeknight run and a Saturday run. Adding on boot camp takes your training to 4 days a week!
