Expo Public Transit

-Pier 30/32 (on the Embarcadero between Brannan and Bryant Streets), where the Expo is staged, is very accessible by public transportation during Race Weekend. Check the following web sites for up-to-date info on routes, fares and schedules.  Pier 30/32 is located at the Brannan Street/Embarcadero stop of the N-Judah and T-Third Trains.

  • Click here for BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) - BART operates rail service in San Francisco and the East Bay. BART will be running their normal schedule and will be NOT be open until around 8 a.m. Please check their web site for specific times. Call 510-465-BART.
  • Click here for MUNI (San Francisco Municipal Railway) - Provides bus, streetcar, and cable car service in the City of San Francisco. Call 415-6SF-MUNI

Race Day: August 3, 2008

Race Day Parking

- Save Gas and Ride your Bike! Bike Valet Services will be provided by the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition. The Bike Valet will be open from 4:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will be located on the Embarcadero in front of the ferry building.  Click here for more information.

- Parking will be available at the Embarcadero Center. Embarcadero Garages will be open at 4:30AM.

- Street parking will be available, please read posted signs to avoid parking in a tow zone.

Race Day Public Transit

- All Public Transit Systems will be running as regularly scheduled. We encourage all runners to drive, have a friend or family drop them off, or taxi in.

- If you are taking a taxi, please call and schedule an appt. in advance and be sure you leave extra travel/waiting time. Drop off at Market St. and Steuart St.

Alternative Transportation to San Francisco - All Nighter Bus Service

Those of you traveling from the East Bay or the South Bay to San Francisco, please note that BART does not run in the very early morning hours. There will be no BART service on Sunday until around 8 a.m.

An alternative is to utilize the All Nighter service provided by five different transit agencies.
 In San Mateo and San Francisco counties, service is operated by SamTrans and Muni.

AC Transit operates service between San Francisco and the East Bay, and in the East Bay along the Richmond and Fremont BART lines.

From the East Bay:
Route 800 West, AC Transit, runs from Richmond Bart Station to Market and Van Ness in San Francisco, making stops along the way in Berkeley and Oakland. Transfers from Routes 801, 802, 805, 820, 840, and 851 to Route 800 can be made at 14th Street and Broadway.

From the Peninsula:
SamTrans 397 North OWL services the South Bay to San Francisco, beginning at the Palo Alto CalTrain Station and ending at Mission and Transbay in San Francisco, making stops in Redwood City, San Carlos, Belmont, San Mateo, Burlingame, South San Francisco, and San Francisco International Airport.
