With 20,000 runners competing in 5 events (Full Marathon, 2 Half Marathons, 5K, and Progressive Marathon), The San Francisco Marathon has runners of all ages, from all over the globe.

Each year there are many personal interest stories surrounding the race. Whether it is runners who are running to raise money for one of our Cause to Run teams, military runners racing from their overseas posts, or kids who are participating in our Youth Running Program, The San Francisco Marathon has many stories to tell!
